Math Teacher's Circle providing connections, math and fun

Math teachers of Havre soon will be meeting for an evening of fun, camaraderie, and of course, math.

Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. a Math Teacher’s Circle will be held at Pizza Pro. Havre High School math teacher Heather Haney said that Math Teacher Circles are professional communities centered on mathematics.

“Math Circles connect teachers and professors through shared mathematical discovery,” Haney said. “We get together to do engaging math problems for fun.”

All K-12, college, and pre-service teachers are invited.

“Anyone who works with children and math is welcome,” Haney added.

The event includes snacks, prizes, two Montana Office of Public Instruction teaching renewal units, a fun math activity and the chance to meet lots of new and fun people, Haney said.
