Women's Expo event a great success

Press release

The Tourism Committee of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the Women's Expo last weekend.

This new endeavor for this committee was a huge success.  More than 60 vendors and booths occupied the entire main floor of the former Serv-Ur-Self Furniture area of the Ryan Building. More than 500 visitors waited in line and then roamed the aisles and were greeted by many different types of sellers and informational groups.

Tera Verploegen and Becky Miller headed up the event and the other members of the Tourism Committee all participated. Henny Penny Cupcakes donated platters of hors d'oeuvres. This allowed the customers to visit, sip and shop while enjoying a glass of wine from Vic's mobile bar set up Friday night. Several members of the Havre High School band played music, and Saturday the Havre High Close Up students had a concession stand. Two boxes of canned goods were collected for the Havre Public Schools pantry.

This project is already in the planning stages for next year after the vendors from Billings, Helena, Frenchtown, Great Falls and the Hi-Line were asking when they could come back to Havre.

Other events for vendors to consider in the near future are Discover Downtown and Taste of Montana on June 30 and, of course, Festival Days Sept. 21-23.
