Niedert has earned the distinguised expert rank from National Rifle Association, meeting rigid requirements both to earn the expert ranking and the distinguished expert. Niedert had to repeatedly successfully score high levels in prone, sitting, kneeling and offhand - standing - positions to earn the expert ranking and then meet even higher requirements in those four shooting positions to earn the distinguished expert rank.
