Cecilia Vielle will be a Skylight next fall

Montana State University-Northern head coach Chris Mouat is working hard to put together a stellar 2018 recruiting class. And, the newest addition is a name all Hi-Line fans will know.
Tuesday, Mouat announced the signing of Box Elder center Cecilia Vielle to an NAIA national letter of intent. Vielle is a 6-3 center, who earned Class C All-State honors this past season, while helping the Lady Bears to their first state championship in two decades.
"Cecilia brings a ton of positives to our program," Mouat said. "She has a good skill set, and is an outstanding student. She is unique for a post player in the fact that she can step out and knock down the open 3-point shot."
Vielle is a three-time First Team All-State and four-time All-Conference selection in basketball. She transferred to Box Elder last fall from Centerville.
This past season, she connected on 45 percent of her 3-point attempts during her senior season. She also averaged 17.5 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and nearly two blocks per game. She shot 64 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free-throw-line. The Bears went 24-2 and won their first Class C title since 1998, defeating Winnett-Grass Range 52-34 last month in Butte.
"Cecilia is coming from a great program in Box Elder, and I know she has been well-coached. Coach Rosette does an outstanding job, and they had an amazing season. We are happy she chose to continue her career close to home."
Vielle was also a standout in volleyball, earning All-Conference honors three times.
In the classroom, Vielle carries a 3.59 grade point average and is ranked first in her class.
"Cecilia is a very well-rounded person. She does a lot of volunteering and is active in her community. We look forward to her being a Skylight."
Vielle is the daughter of Earl and Patty Vielle. She is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Nation in Browning, Montana. She plans to major in nursing at MSU-Northern.
