Kinzee Peterson, Havre High Softball
The Blue Pony softball team finally got some games this week, three to be exact, and junior Kinzee Peterson had a big first three games, especially Saturday. At the Lewistown Invite, Peterson, Havre's starting catcher, racked up seven hits and scored three runs as the Ponies dominated both Hardin and Laurel. Peterson is in her third year of HHS softball, and she also stars on the Havre Ice Hawks high school hockey team, and the HHS girls golf team.
Brady Ophus, Havre High Tennis
The Havre High tennis teams finally played at home this weekend, and senior Brady Ophus was one of many Blue Ponies to take advantage. After going 2-0 in Cut Bank last weekend, Ophus won two key matches Saturday for the Pony boys. He won his singles match against Hardin, then teamed with Tyrel Kjersem to win in doubles later against Lewistown. Ophus, a three-year varsity standout for the Ponies, also excelled in football this fall.
