News you can use
Editor,
I’m writing to express my sincere appreciation for the support and interest in our local Alzheimer’s Awareness Event that took place on Feb. 12th. Based on attendance, it is evident that Havre cares as much as I do about the affects of this devastating disease. Sadly, Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States; and of the top 10, it is the only one that can’t be prevented, cured or slowed.
Thank you to Havre Daily News for helping me spread the word; there was a lovely article shedding light on the disease and the details of the event. Thank you to Northern Montana Hospital for graciously providing the venue, snacks and refreshments for all in attendance. Thank you to the Montana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association and Nick Hart for their partnership in delivering such a powerful presentation. Most of all, thank you to all of those that took time and interest in attending the event. It was truly wonderful to see the conference room at full capacity.
I’m looking forward to bringing further awareness, knowledge and resources to Havre. There are two more events tentatively scheduled for 2018; watch for additional communications to follow. For now, I’ll leave you with this: The Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline provides reliable information and support to anyone who needs assistance. Call toll free, day or night at 1-844-440-6600.
Best Regards,
Jennifer Tilleman
