Paying for postsecondary education can be a daunting proposition for many Montana families. Fortunately, the Montana Contractors’ Association — through its Associates’ and Concrete divisions — offers $1,000 scholarships to students whose parents or guardians are employed by MCA member companies.
“We at the MCA have a strong commitment to helping Montana students pay for their postsecondary education, whether that includes certificate programs, four-year degree programs, or whatever their calling may be,” said Eric Bechtold, president of the MCA Associates’ Board of Directors. “We are dedicated to building Montana’s workforce.”
Fundraising efforts on the MCA’s Associates’ Division part include the MCA Summer Outing and more. MCA’s Concrete Division also pledges a portion of funds raised through its training activities to student scholarships.
Available scholarships include:
• MCA Associates’ Division Presidential Scholarships (High School, Undergraduate)
• MCA Concrete Division Scholarships (High School, Undergraduate)
To qualify for the Presidential Scholarships, applicants must:
• Have parents or guardians employed by MCA member companies. Find a complete list of MCA member companies in the Business Directory at http://www.mtagc.org under the “Resources” tab.
• Be attending: any accredited postsecondary school (in-state applicants) or an accredited Montana postsecondary school (out-of-state applicants)
• Provide a completed application that demonstrates dedication to scholastic record and ability, involvement in extra-curricular activities, and desire to work hard to succeed.
To qualify for the MCA Concrete Division Scholarships, applicants must:
• Meet the qualifications mentioned above and be the child or dependent of a member of the MCA’s Concrete Division.
The number of scholarships distributed annually depends on funds raised throughout the year and the quality of applicant pools for the scholarships.
Applications are available at https://www.mtagc.org and the application deadline is Monday, April 16. For more information, call the MCA at 406-442-4162.
