Local News - Breakfast for literacy this weekend

Havre’s annual Breakfast for Literacy fundraiser is set for Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Havre Eagles Club.

The event includes The Eagles Auxiliary preparing a breakfast that includes pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, orange juice, milk, and coffee, Havre High School’s Key Club providing a variety of activities for the children, Bullhook Blossom Garden Club providing materials and activities for the children, and new to the event, a book swap, as well as a silent auction.

Tickets for the event are $10 per person with children from birth to 2 gaining free admission.

The Breakfast for Literacy kicks off the annual campaign for Plant a Seed…READ! that runs from April 1 through June 30. During the campaign, community members can make a difference in a young child’s life by donating to Plant a Seed…READ!, which will go to all literacy activities or by adopting a reader into the Imagination Library program for $30 per year per child. People can learn more about the program at the 2018 Breakfast for Literacy.
