Letter to the Editor - North Central Montana Pheasants Forever benefits conservation

Editor,

The North Central Montana chapter of Pheasants Forever has been a hub of conservation along the Hi-Line for over 30 years.

Thanks to generous support from local communities and hunters, the chapter has funded many projects to benefit wildlife, youth outreach, and hunter access over that time. With funds raised at the 2017 annual banquet, the chapter contributed $20,000 to the acquisition and management of a parcel located along the Teton River near Dutton. This previously private 279 acres is now open to the public and will be developed to improve wildlife potential. The chapter also contributed funds to support Pheasants Forever Farm Bill biologist partner positions which impact habitat around the state.

Local efforts from the position based in Chinook have conserved over 30,000 acres of habitat by providing technical assistance to land owners and enrolling lands in various conservation programs such as CRP.

Thank you to all the North Central Montana chapter supporters, we could not do it without your help! For more information, please visit http://www.montanapf.org.
