Havre Middle School to open as normal Wednesday after shooting threat

Havre Middle School evacuated, district says all students safe

Havre Public Schools announced this evening that,after a shooting threat found written on the wall of Havre Middle School led to the evacuation of the school and a temporary lockdown, the school will run as normally scheduled Wednesday and all bus routes will be running as normal.

The district announced via phone and text messages and on its website this afternoon that the school had been evacuated and school district administrators were conducting a sweep of the building.

Havre Police Department Capt. Bill Wilkinson said the district had reported that a threat of a shooting at the school written on the wall had been reported and the department was investigating.

The district said in a release this evening that administration, in cooperation with Havre police, is investigating the incident.

The district schools will open Wednesday with an increased police presence, a release from Havre Public Schools said.

The release confirmed that a shooting threat was discovered in the boy’s bathroom near the school library.

The district and law enforcement are investigating the threat, the release said.

02:22 p.m. Havre Public Schools announced Havre Middle School is locked and no one is allowed to be at the school and all activities have been canceled.

02:10 p.m. — Havre Public Schools announced on its website and via telephone and text messages that Havre Middle School has been evacuated and administration is doing a sweep of the building, with all students out of the building and safe.

A call to Robins School Administration building went unanswered, going to voice mail

Havre Police Capt. Bill Wilkinson said officers are at the school, but the information the Havre Police Department has received so far is rather vague, saying it appears a message threatening a school shooting was scratched on a wall.
