Elli Miller, a sophomore at Havre High School, works on finishing test one of three during the Montana Council of Teachers of Mathematics, or MCTM, contest. The contest is a statewide one that is broken down into 13 regions. The top 15 percent of test scores from this contest are given superior ranking, and if a student gets superior on all three tests then that student's tests are submitted to find the top two students of the region, one boy and one girl. The 26 tests that make it to that level are examined again, and the top two from there, again one boy and one girl, are the winners of the state MCTM contest.
