Hadford, Kjersem challenge Hill County incumbents

Two candidates missed in Tuesday story

A story on the front page of the Havre Daily News Tuesday edition failed to report the names of two candidates who filed before the 5 p.m deadline Monday to run in Hill County.

Republican Penny Hadford of Havre will challenge Hill County Treasurer Sandy Brown, a Democrat, in her bid for re-election in November.

Dana Kjersem, a Democrat, has filed to challenge Hill County Commission Chair Mark Peterson in the June 5 primary.

Dale Hansonl has submitted some signatures to the Hill County Clerk and Recorder’s Office in a bid to run as an independent in the commission race. A representative of the office said this morning he had not yet submitted enough signatures to qualify as a candidate, but has until May 29 to submit more signatures and until June 4 to file his oath of candidacy and pay his filing fee if he does collect enough.
