BUTTE - The Box Elder girls basketball team stood alone Saturday night inside the Butte Civic Center. Alone as in, the last team standing in the 2017-18 Class C basketball season.
Yes, winning their first state championship since 1998 was a dream come true for the mighty Bears, who have been climbing the ladder of success for some time now under longtime head coach Joel Rosette.
And while Saturday night's championship game win over Winnett-Grass Range was an accomplishment that was all Box Elder, and theirs to cherish forever, it was also a part of something much bigger.
