The Frontier Conference released its 2018 Women's All-Conference Team and postseason awards Wednesday morning, and a pair of Montana State University-Northern Skylights made the list.
Northern senior point guard Brandy Lambourne and sophomore guard Shiloh McCormick both received Frontier Honorable Mention honors. Lambourne, averaged 12 points per game for the Skylights and played an incredible 37 minutes per outing during the season. McCormick averaged 12 points and seven rebounds per game for the Skylights, overcoming an early-season injury, as well.
UM-Western point guard Brianna King took home both Frontier Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors. In her first season at Western, King led the Frontier in scoring and was third in assists. She averaged just over 19 points per night.
Carroll College head coach Rachelle Sayers was named Frontier Coach of the Year. Sayers guided the Fighting Saints to the Frontier regular season and tournament championships. Carroll edged Rocky Mountain College in the Frontier title game Tuesday night in Helena.
Providence guard Steph McDonagh was named Frontier Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, while teammate Parker Esary was named Freshman of the Year. Carroll's Taylor Salonen and Montana Tech's Kaylee Zard each were named Frontier Sixth Player of the Year.
The NAIA also announced Wednesday it's qualifiers for the naitonal tournaments. On the women's side, RMC, Providence and UM-Western joined champion Carroll in Billings. On the men's side, Western and LC State got at-large berths to join champion Carroll in Kansas City.
