The Frontier Conference men’s basketball season came to an official end Monday night, with Carroll College beating UM-Western for the conference championship. On Tuesday morning, the league announced its annual All-Conference Teams, and postseason awards.
As expected, Montana State University-Northern senior center Ryan Reeves was named Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Reeves earned the honor for the second straight year, after leading the Frontier in blocked shots and rebounds. He was also named First-Team All-Conference. In his senior season, Reeves averaged 15 points, nine rebounds and nearly four blocks per game, while also leading the Lights in steals.
Northern senior Charles Porter also made the All-Conference list. Porter earned Honorable Mention honors after averaging 11 points, five rebounds and three assists per game in his final season for the Lights.
Carroll’s Ryan Imhoff was named the Frontier Conference Men’s Player of the Year. Imhoff led the league in scoring this season and will be a contender for NAIA national Player of the Year honors. Carroll head coach Carson Cunningham was named Frontier Coach of the Year.
Rocky Mountain College sophomore Jared Samuelson was named Newcomer of the Year, after transferring to RMC from the University of Montana. Freshman of the Year went to Lewis-Clark State’s Damek Mitchell and Sixth Man of the Year was awarded to Providence senior Sergio Berkley.
The Frontier women’s awards and All-Conference teams will be announced later today.
