News you can use
Editor,
It’s easy to take for granted that someone will always show up when we have an emergency. We dial 911 and, within minutes, help is on the way. This doesn’t happen magically. It is possible because of dedicated people who take turns keeping constant vigil over our town. It requires commitment and preparation for a team to be ready at a moment’s notice to handle life-threatening or gruesome situations with a clear head. Many of us can think of a time in our own lives that we have depended on such a team.
As our local firefighters are soon to be celebrating a very special 100th anniversary, I want to say “Thank You!” for all that you do. You make a difference in this town and we need you here.
With much appreciation,
Mary McKenzie
Member of MNA Local Unit #12
