Volunteer safety instructor Mike Ley, who has been teaching these classes for 21 years, pushes a gun back into a student's shoulder to simulate recoil. This activity was part of a hunter safety certification class Wednesday night. The class runs all week as kids learn basics about guns and hunting and ends with a hands-on course Saturday.
