Letter to the Editor - Havre Daily at new low

Editor,

I have not lived in Havre for almost 20 years, but have kept up on local news via the Havre Daily.

The article that was posted about the Dean/St. Jude’s shut down was repugnant. This whole farce of a Senate campaign is bad enough, but when you take and publish gossip and rumors about a good family involved in a custody dispute, you have reached a new low. Tim Leeds and the HDN owes a public apology for their lack of ethics in this “story.”

James Dean is portraying classic physiologic abuser behavior and you fed right into it. He obviously does not care about running for Senate, if he did he would be showing up at events and fundraisers. He would be involved in the community and state.

He moved to Havre, found a way to get his name out there and then created lies to destroy his ex-wife and the new life she leads, in her hometown. In his mind his mission is accomplished (for now) as he runs away with his U-Haul. The internet and print media does not go away, and now HDN has begun a legacy of gossip mongering.

Thoroughly disgusted,

Jamie Kurtz

Editor’s note: William James Dean and Sarah Dean did appear at fundraisers and campaign events before leaving Havre.
