Park board holds cabin lease meeting

The Hill County Park Board has called a special meeting this month to approve recommendations on Beaver Creek Park cabin lease agreements made by a board committee.

The board will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, in the Timmons Room of the Hill County Courthouse with a three-item agenda: Discussion of an issue at #8 Phelps Lane in the park and to take public comment and then take action on proposed changes to the lease agreement.

The board accepted cabin lease agreement recommendations from its Rules and Regulations Committee during its Feb. 5 meeting.

A release from Beaver Creek Park says the Hill County Park Board is soliciting comment on the proposals and then intends to approve a final draft of the proposed changes.

If the board approves the recommendations, they then would go to the Hill County Attorney for review, and then back to the board for final approval. If the board approves the final draft, the Hill County Commission would then begin action to enact the proposal into a county ordinance.

The Beaver Creek Park release says the intent is to have the changes enacted in time to have them sent out in the formal lease agreements in the spring.

Copies of the draft document are available at the Beaver Creek Park office at Camp Kiwanis and online.

People are asked to be very specific and refer to the specific section and part of the lease document when making comments so it is very clear  what language change is proposed when they submit comments.

The draft document says that at the Feb. 22 meeting, people can make comments orally but must also submit them in writing and may only comment on the agenda item of the draft changes.
