Letter to the Editor - Shame on the Havre Daily News

To all who were involved in the printing of the recent Dean article:

How dare you involve yourselves in the custody battle and allow the news organization to be a puppet of James Dean’s manipulation tactics, and party to the slander of two individuals’ good names. Shame on you!

I have spent my life working with children, and I was appalled that Havre Daily News would contribute to the damage of two girls’ emotional health by the printing of this article Yes, they will hear talk; yes, they will read this article. If you are already being used as a pawn in your own father’s twisted story line, imagine what this will do. It boggles my mind that you as a news organization didn’t understand the difference between journalism and sensationalism.

I encourage you to the pull the story off the website, issue a public apology for your part in the smearing of (the accuseds’ good names,) and from this point forward only cover this man’s campaign. Leave his custody battle and all the parties involved in that out of it. Allow them the privacy they deserve and allow the court system to do their due diligence as well.
