Sunnyside lists spelling bee winners

Sunnyside Intermediate School announced that Izabelle Hagen won the school spelling bee Jan. 29, with Tyley Hemmer taking second and Katie Messinger taking third.

Havre public schools Assistant Superintendent Craig Mueller was the moderator for the bee, held in the Sunnyside gymnasium.

The bee had 25 contestants and lasted a total of 42 rounds with the final two contestants slugging it out for 31 rounds. The winning word was "expeditionaries."

The top 10 contestants will compete in the county bee at Havre Middle School Thursday, Feb. 22, at 9 a.m.
