Filler turns passion for yoga into business

Last September, AMP'D Fitness instructor Cortney Filler decided to make her passion into a business when she opened Bare Pa-dma Yoga, at 517 Second St. in Suite A above Brandon's Drapery & Floor Covering.

This summer, Filler decided to open her own studio, when her contract washing trucks for UPS was set to expire.

She has done yoga at home for seven years and two years ago accepted an offer by AMP'D Fitness to teach a couple classes a week.

Filler said that since opening her studio., she teaches 14 to 16 classes Monday through Friday.

Though Montana does not require yoga instructors to do so, Filler said later this month she will travel to Hawaii to get certified and is already certified in buti yoga. Buti yoga, she said, includes elements of power yoga, tribal dancing and biometrics.

Bare Pa-dma now offers beginner and intermediate classes in yoga, as well as paddle board and buti yoga.

More styles of yoga might be offered after she gets her certification, Filler said.

"I just want people to come and enjoy themselves and have fun in the studio," Filler said.

For more information and hours, people can contact her at 390-4788.
