The North Star speech and drama team is inviting people to an open house tonight in The Pit in North Star High School to catch a glimpse of what speech and drama is doing this year.
The team is coming off a successful weekend at the Simms invitational tournament Saturday on their way to the BC North divisional tournament this weekend in Choteau.
The qualifiers from divisionals will compete at the Class BC State Tournamment Jan. 26-27 in Huntley Project.
In Simms at their final regular-season meet, the North Star team placed third overall in the speech sweepstakes team competition and looks to be in fine form for divisionals.
At Simms, Hayden Massar took first in humorous oral interpretation of literature; informative speaker Ashley Otto took second; Jewel Wicks and Aubrey Welch took second and third, respectively, in spontaneous oral interpretation of literature, and Daniel Nerat placed fourth in impromptu speaking.
The event in The Pit starts tonight at 7:30 p.m.
