North Central Montana Stockgrowers Association meeting today at 6 p.m. at the Eagles Club will cover not only organization business but also business advice from guest speaker Kirk Donsbach.
Donsbach, a broker with Daniels Trading who also runs his family farm and ranch operation, will use his experience developing hedging strategy over 14 years and first-hand production knowledge to help fellow producers manage for price risk — hedging, futures and options — a press release says.
The business meeting prior to Donsbach’s speech will include introduction of North Central Stockgrowers’ new president, Dana Darlington of Big Sandy, along with election of a vice president and directors. The members also plan to revisit the direction of the organization under new leadership.
Committee reports will include the Montana Stockgrowers Association report from representative Kim Peterson, the MSGA annual convention report from Darlington and the Montana State University-Northern Collegiate Stockgrowers report.
The agenda also has time set aside for discussion of rancher assistance for area producers effected by the East Fork Fire.
