Grazing workshop set for Jan. 11

A grazing workshop is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 11, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Meeting Room at the Northern Agricultural Research Center off U.S. Highway 87 southwest of Havre at Fort Assinniboine, 3710 Assinniboine Road.

Topics at the workshop are

• Grass Growth Response to Grazing, presented by Rick Caquelin, USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service Great Falls-area range management specialist;

• Grazing Management and Decision Making Following Drought and Fire, presented by Clayton Marlow, Montana State University Animal and Range Science Department, and

• Grazing Management and WildlfeL Chronic Wasting Disease, presented by Josch Schrecengost, Great Falls-area biologist with NRCS.

Refreshments will be served at the workshop, which is sponsored by the Hill County Conservation District, NRCS and Montana State University Extension.
