Police seeking suspect who fled after victim pulled gun on him

Police say they are looking for a man who fled after his girlfriend’s mother pulled a gun on him for allegedly assaulting both of them.

Aaron Twoteeth, suspected of assault and partner or family member assault charges, is on the loose, Lt. Aaron Wittmer of the Havre Police Department said this morning.

Police dispatch records show that a Third Street caller reported to police Thursday at 9:26 p.m. that someone was being held at gunpoint.

The assault was drug-related, Wittmer said.

Twoteeth, who was going through drug withdrawal, got into an argument with his girlfriend after he told her he wanted to leave and get drugs, Wittmer said. The argument heated up and he began assaulting her.

The girlfriend’s mother intervened, trying to stop the assault. Twoteeth, Wittmer said, then also assaulted the mother. The mother then fetched a gun and threatened Twoteeth, telling him to stop the violence, stay right where he was as the police were on their way. The gun, Wittmer said, was legal.

Despite the threat, Twoteeth fled anyway. His girlfriend also left. The mother did not seek medical attention.
