If anyone thought the Havre High wrestling team was going to do anything but dominate during the 2017-18 season, they won't think that any further after the way the Blue Ponies performed at the Havre Invitational.
The Havre Invite, which is the annual season-opening meet for the Ponies, turned out to be an easy win for HHS, which cruised to a first-place finish with 250 points. Great Falls High was second with 194 and Lewistown was third 171.
The Ponies crowned a total eight individual champions as Mick Chagnon (103), Quinn Reno (120), Marc Ramirez (126), Ryan Stewart (132), Lane Paulson (138), Martin Wilkie (145), Connor Harris (152) and Tyler Schaub (205) all finished first in their respective weight classes. Mason Dionne (170), Austin Ratliff (HWT) and Cameron Pleninger (113) also finished second for Havre, while Taylor Gopher (160) was third.
