Superheroes to plunge for Special Olympics

People have the chance to watch people put on their superhero costumes Saturday and take part in the SubZero SuperHero Polar Plunge.

This year will be the second year in which the Polar Plunge will take place on the Community Town Square in conjunction with the annual Santa Run and Community Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Teams that have raised monetary pledges to help cover the Special Olympans’ expenses will jump into a vat of icy water. Local first responders will supervise the dunk tank as people cheer on plungers.

Registration will begin at the Town Square at 2 p.m. before plungers jump into the water at 3:30 p.m.

The plunge helps fund local activities and trips for the Special Olympic athletes.
