The Montana State University-Northern Collegiate Stockgrowers will host their fourth annual Meet-N-Greet, Saturday in Northern’s Student Union Building Ballroom.
Barry Francis, public relations chair for the Collegiate Stockgrowers, said the event is the group’s largest fundraiser.
“This is a fundraiser that really gives us the possibility to do those kind of things to keep us afloat enough to actually be able to help other people out,” he said.
The Meet-N-Greet will consist of a social hour, prime rib dinner, door prizes, live and silent auctions, music provided by a live band and a full bar.
Former state Sen. Taylor Brown of the Northern Ag Network will be the event’s keynote speaker.
Francis said the social hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner will be served at about 6:15 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door. Francis said there are 250 tickets for sale, and they will be available on a first-come-first served basis.
Money raised from the event will pay for the Stockgrowers to go to ag conferences such as the Montana Young Ag Leadership Conference.
The money, Francis said, will also cover expenses that allow the club to help area ranchers with branding, fence building and this last summer helping fight wildfires.
The gathering will coincide with the North Central Stockgrowers Association’s annual meeting in the Applied Technology Center at 1 p.m. Francis said issues in the agriculture industry will be discussed and new board members elected at the meeting.
Francis said people who are willing to help set up, bus tables or clean up after the event can call him at 406-265-1891.
“We try to get as much done as we can so we can give back to the community as much as we can,” he said.
