Mental Health America of Montana is recruiting volunteers who want to be trained to be a Recovery Line Responder. Recovery — Warm Line — “Responders” listen and provide resources to Montanans, as well as other states struggling with isolation, anxiety, depression, alcohol abuse and other social issues by offering empathic support over the phone. Responders are people who have experience with a mental health diagnosis and/or a family member with a diagnosis.
Since 2008, volunteers on Montana Recovery — Warm Line — have provided support to those without a regular support system or simply those who would need someone to listen.
All responders receive training, ongoing support throughout their service, team meetings, and are offered training in mental health/peer support free of charge when available.
