Rep. Greg Gianforte, R-Mont., will be in Havre Wednesday at noon for a fundraiser and lunch in the Vineyard Room of the Duck Inn.
Hill County Republican Central Committee Chair Andrew Brekke said attendees will need to pay for lunch if they choose to eat, but that the event is otherwise free and open to the public.
Donations to Gianforte's re-election campaign may be made at will.
Brekke said Gianforte will talk about issues and legislation he has been working on during his first four months as Montana's lone member in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Gianforte was elected in a May special election to the seat after Ryan Zinke resigned to serve as the U.S. Interior Secretary in the Trump administration.
Gianforte will be running for re-election in 2018. So far Democrats John Heenan, an attorney from Billings, Grant Kier, former executive director of the Five Valleys Land Trust, a nonprofit in Missoula, and state Rep. Tom Woods, D-Bozeman, are seeking their party's nomination to take on Gianforte in the general election.
