A candidate for City Judge in Havre quietly withdrew from the race two months ago, a withdrawal of candidacy form from the Hill County Clerk and Recorders office says.
The document was signed by candidate Jodi Kueffler and dated Aug. 9.
“I feel it’s an important position that I don’t feel that I have the time to devote to the campaign or devote to the position, so I chose to withdraw,” Kueffler said Wednesday.
Kueffler, who has worked for the Hill County Attorney’s office since 2013, entered the race to challenge incumbent Virginia Siegel in June, shortly before the June 19 deadline for candidates to file to run in November’s city elections.
Kaci Hipple of the Clerk and Recorder’s office said that because Kueffler withdrew before the Aug. 14 deadline to withdraw from the race, her name will not appear on the ballot.
Ballots for city elections are set to be mailed out to voters Oct 20.
