Havre's Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 497 and organizations in the region and through the state are again coming together to help veterans in the region.
Havre's second Veterans Stand Down is set for next Friday, Oct. 6, at the HRDC Building at 2229 Fifth Ave. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In a press release, organizers said they are looking for any help people3 can give to veterans, and people who could assist are asked to contact Scott at 265-4641 or by email at [email protected].
"The stand down is intended to be an all-inclusive event for the entire community to assist veterans," the release said. "We would appreciate any assistance you could give us to make this a success."
The release said any assistance with services, monetary donations and volunteers to host and direct veterans to different services would be of great help.
"We would also welcome donations that could be used as door prizes or giveaways," the release added.
The first stand down held in Havre, which ran Oct. 6 last year, was a great success with almost 100 veterans attending and receiving services.
The stand down provides access to Department of Veterans Affairs, job service associations and, as available, health screening and counseling services.
