The Havre High football team was hoping to bounce back from an 0-1 start Friday night against Lewistown, but unfortunately, the Eagles had other plans.
Quarterback Mitchell Norslien tossed two touchdown passes and ran for another, while running back Wesley Jameson added two scores of his own as Lewistown crushed Havre 39-12 Friday night at Blue Pony Stadium.
Lewistown got a pair of rushing touchdowns in the first quarter to build a 14-0 lead. Then in the second quarter, Norslien got in on the act, scoring from 18 yards out, before later hooking up with Tanner Trafton on a 24-yard touchdown pass, which made the score 26-0.
The Blue Ponies managed to find the scoreboard late in the first half, as Trey Murphy hit Ethan Roberts for a 28-yard touchdown making the score 26-6 at the half. Yet, the Eagles added touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters to run away with a 27-point victory.
Murphy led the way for the Ponies with two touchdowns, compared to one interception. Ivar Aageson and Roberts both contributed with touchdown receptions. Havre is now 0-2 on the season and will host Laurel next Friday.
