Havre Pride fall cleanup will be a weeklong affair this year, Monday through next Saturday, said Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Director Jody Olson.
Members of the Chamber board decided to put the garbage bins out, at the parking lot at Fifth Avenue and First Street and at Zip Trip in Highland Park, for a week, she said, to give people more opportunity to fit their cleanup into their schedules. She added that the bins would be out by Labor Day but maybe as early as today, and people can get garbage bags at the Chamber office during business hours.
During Havre Pride the Chamber asks that people in the community take some time to clean up part of the community, whether it is in their own neighborhood or another part of town they might have noticed needs some attention.
Twice annually, in the spring to clean up from the winter and get ready for summer tourist season and in the fall to tidy up from summer and get ready for Festival Days and winter, groups, families and individuals pull together to help beautify the community.
Recycle Hi-Line will again be holding a recycle drive in conjunction with the event, and they will be set up Saturday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Pacific Steel and Recycling, 1805 U.S. Highway 2 East, to take in recyclables.
The fall cleanup Havre Pride is sponsored by the Havre Pride Committee of the Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Recycle Hi-Line, with other partners including Montana Department of Transportation, the city of Havre and every volunteer who participates.
