Fire now in Beaver Creek Park
3:15 p.m. Rocky Boy Public Schools issued a release that the schools will not be transporting students to the Parker School area when school is released. Parents must come and pick up their children from the school. “Until this evacuation notice is lifted by the tribe, no school buses will be running in the area affected by this order,” the notice said.
Further evacuations ordered by the tribe will be noticed to the public via radio, the notice said.
2:20 p.m. Hill County Disaster and Emergency Services Coordinator Dave Sheppard said the Havre Fire Department is waiting to see when the incident commander in the Three Forks Fire that is rapidly jumping to new locations in the Bear Paw Mountains says is needed, and the Havre firefighters would respond if needed.
1:56 p.m. — An emergency evacuation alert is in effect from Sucker Creek Road south to Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation and east to the Blaine County Line.
Hill County Commissioner Diane McLean said at 1:45 p.m. that fire was burning in the Sucker Creek area on Beaver Creek Park.
McLean said no one but firefighters or emergency personnel should go into the park at this point.
"This is obviously a very dangerous situation,” McLean said.
