Rebecca M. "Becky" Nicholson, 43, of Havre, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Cremation has taken place, and memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church.
Becky was born Dec. 24, 1973, in Havre, to Richard and Wanda (Bristor) Nicholson. She was raised in Havre, attending school there. Following her high school years, Becky attended Montana State University-Northern, receiving her bachelors degree. Upon graduation, Becky worked for the Clack Museum as its curator. In 2000, she began working for MSU-Northern, first as a librarian, then moving over to act as the administrative assistant to the Dean of Science, Arts, Education, and Nursing. Several years later, Becky returned to the library, now working as the disability services coordinator, where she remained until her death. In all, Becky dedicated her time to Northern for over 16 years.
She was a loving daughter, fantastic sister and wonderful aunt. Friends of hers have commented that she was an amazing friend who never had a bad word to say about anyone. She greeted all with a smile, and had an infectious sense of humor. Becky enjoyed knitting, sewing, Tuesday Game Night with her Northern friends and traveling. She traveled to Rome, Paris, London and Ireland and went on a couple of cruises. Her favorite travels were with her family, as family was the most important thing to her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Nicholson in 2015; and her grandparents, Harold and Molly Nicholson and Dell and Edith Bristor.
Becky is survived by her mother, Wanda Woodwick, of Havre; her sister, Rosalie (Thomas) Kiernan of Great Falls; her brother, Zeb (Shannon) Nicholson of Havre; her nieces and nephew, Zack (Sarah and Makenna) and Kaci (Ty Gieger) Nicholson and Meghan Kiernan; her step-mother, Kathy Nicholson; step-sister, Rachel Carpenter; step-brothers, Brian Carpenter of Havre and Chris Carpenter of Chinook; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many wonderful friends.
