Library News & Views - Author to speak at Havre-Hill County Library

From Rachel Rawn

Havre-Hill County Library director

Tuesday, July 25, at 7 p.m., author Dawn Reno Langley will be at the Havre-Hill County Library to speak about her book “The Mourning Parade.”

“The Mourning Parade” follows Natalie DeAngelo, who loses her two young sons in a school shooting. Desperate to find relief from her unspeakable loss, Natalie volunteers as a veterinarian at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. There she meets an angry, injured elephant named Sophie. Together, Natalie and Sophie begin to heal, finding new ways to enjoy life together. This program is free and open to the public.

Books and Babies is every Wednesday morning at 10:15 a.m. At Books and Babies we read board books, sing nursery rhymes, and get a head start on your child’s early literacy skills. This program is open to all ages, but is especially designed for babies and young toddlers. This program is free and open to the public.

Story Time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This week Dawn Reno Langley will be at morning Story Time, talking about her own experience working with elephants, teaching the kids about the different sounds elephants make, and leading us in some fun activities. Dawn will only be at the morning Story Time, so make sure and join us! In the afternoon we will be reading elephant books and making elephants out of hand prints. Wear an old T-shirt, there will be paint! This program is free and open to the public.
