News you can use
After months of playing both in Havre and around the state of Montana, the youth baseball season is winding down, but not before state tournaments are concluded. And luckily for the Havre 10U All-Star team, the 10U state tournament will be right here in Havre.
While the 10U All-Stars have been playing a lot of baseball recently, they have been building toward the state tournament, which starts tonight and runs through Sunday at the south Havre softball complex.
The Havre 10U team just played at the Firecracker Tournament in Kalispell last weekend and posted a 3-1 record, which should give it plenty of confidence as it gets set to contend with Miles City, Glendive, Belgrade, Gallatin Valley, Glasgow, Bozeman and Big Muddy this weekend for the state 10U championship.
The eight teams have been divided into two pools. Pool A features Gallatin Valley, Bozeman, Glasgow and Big Muddy. Pool B includes Havre, Belgrade, Miles City and Glendive. All eight teams will advance into the eight-team single-elimination tournament that will take place Saturday and Sunday. The championship game is set for noon Sunday.
Havre, coached by Oscar Delarosa, features a roster that includes Matt Huse, Aaron Fuzesy, Colter Solomon, Daxton Oswalt, Brayden Kimberling, Bodhy Lassle, Kash Keller, Logan Kinsella, Tanner Delarosa, Chason Mader, Ezra Pyle, Jevin Jenkins and Teegan Solomon. The 10U All Stars will open the tournament tonight at 5 against Belgrade, followed by games against Miles City (Friday 11 a.m.) and Glendive (Saturday 8 a.m.) Havre will also play at either 2 p.m. or 5 p.m. Saturday, depending how it does in pool play.
The 10U All Stars aren’t the only youth baseball team in Havre that’s been busy lately. The Havre 15U All Stars were also in action this past weekend in Kalispell and took fourth in the 15U Firecracker tournament. The 15U All Stars will also be playing at the 15U state tournament July 12-16 in Whitefish.
The Havre 12U All-Star team also played in Kalispell over the weekend and posted a 2-2 record. It will also be in action this weekend as it heads to Belgrade for the 12U state tournament, which starts today and runs through Sunday.
