Chapter V of the International P.E.O. Sisterhood has announced its Montana State Universitry-Northern scholarship recipients for the 2017-2018 scholastic year.
Chapter V awarded two scholarships to Havre High senior girls Cortland Brenna and Naomi Terry. Brenna and Terry will be attending Northern in the fall and each will be pursuing a nursing degree. Both girls have maintained high scholastic GPAs and both have been very active in school activities, as well as extracurricular community affairs.
The Chapter V Martha Kuhr Memorial Scholarship was awarded to nursing student Amy Stevenson, and Chapter V Scholarships were awarded to Hannah Bailey and Asher Payne, who are presently attending Northern.
True to the mission of promoting educational opportunities for women, education continues to be the primary philanthropy of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. The P.E.O. Sisterhood proudly sponsors six international philanthropies, or projects, designed to assist women with their educational goals. Grant, loan and award recipients - as well as Cottey College students - need not be members of P.E.O. With the exception of international students who receive International Peace Scholarships, each recipient is sponsored by a P.E.O. chapter. This allows the chapter members to be a meaningful part of their student's life. The Montana State Chapter of P.E.O. also offers three scholarship opportunities.
