The Montana Department of Transportation would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to complete safety improvements at locations around Havre in Hill County. Proposed work includes the following:

Site #1 (U.S. Highway 87): Install intersection ahead warning signage along with supplemental plaque of street name for Old Post Road. Also install new street name signs for Old Post Road.

Site #2 (U.S. Highway 87): Install panel delineation through the curve located from reference post 109.4 to RP 110.3.

Site #3 (Secondary Highway 234): Install panel delineation between RP 17.7 and RP 21.0.

Site #4 (The intersection of Secondary Highway 232 and 7th Avenue): Install intersection ahead signing, a vehicle speed feedback sign, step down speed limit signs, and panel delineation between RP 0.3 and RP 5.6.

Site #5 (Secondary Highway 234): Install panel delineation on curves throughout cluster limits RP 4.7 to RP 7.0.

The purpose of this project is to address the number and minimize the impacts of roadway departure crashes. The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2018, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
