It continues to be a busy time for Havre Youth Baseball. In the last two weeks, HYBA wrapped up its city tournaments, including the Majors tournament two weeks ago at Lions Park.
Malta defeated a team sponsored by Lions for the championship. The other teams that competed were Domino's, Bear Paw Precast, Holden's Hot Wheels and Northern Montana Hospital.
Malta was coached by Frank Benson and lost just once all season. Its roster included Clay Adams, Juliun Benson, Reece Brown, Tanner Ball, Michael Jaynes, Dallas Judd, Wyatt Judd, Ivan Lefdauhl, Carson Ottinger, Jonathan Siewing, Seth Siewing, Treyten Stiffarm and Dwight Werk.
Lions, coached by Shane Reno, finished second and had a roster consisting of Paul Bartlett, Daesean Bullshields, Derreck Christensen, Ciaran Courtnage, Ethan Elliot, Adam Haberger, Sands Kolter, Brody Morse, Sosaia Raass, Kale Reno, Sterling Shelton and Tristan Stygles.
While city leagues are over for the year, this summer will still feature a slew of All-Star tournaments in Havre and out of Havre.
This weekend, the Havre Babe Ruth All-Star's, both the 15U and 13U teams, will host a tournament at Legion Field.
The tournament runs Thursday-Sunday.
