Kicks off 'Oliver' next weekend

Fort Peck Summer Theatre is wrapping up a production this weekend with a first - three veteran Montana Actors' Theatre actors from Havre in the production.
Pam Veis leads the cast of "Arsenic and Old Lace," with MAT actors Martin Holt and Mary (Kaercher) Ohm also in the play.
The last shows of the production, which opened in Fort Peck June 2, are tonight and Saturday night at 7:30 and Sunday at 4 p.m.
The theater group goes right into its next production, "Oliver," based on the classic Charles Dickens novel "Oliver Twist."
That play opens Friday, June 23, and runs on weekends through July 9, again with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 p.m. and productions at 4 p.m on Sundays.
"Oliver" is produced through special cooperation with Arizona Broadway Theatre, where Fort Peck Artistic Director Andy Meyers recently directed the musical as part of their season. The Arizona theater is sharing some costumes, props, creative ideas and many cast members with the Fort Peck production, including Geoff Belliston, Taylor Caprara, Jamie Parnell, Jay Michael Roberts, Meggie Siegrist, Megan Wiltshire, Ali Whitwell and Cassandra Norville Klaphake reprising her role of Nancy. A Billings native and award-winning actor and musician, she is founder and artistic producer of Arizona Broadway Theatre, and was previously heard at Fort Peck as the voice of the dragon in Shrek.
Tristan Klaphake, 11, joins his mother in Montana to recreate his starring role of Oliver. Musical Director Lizzie Webb also conducted the ABT production.
The cast of "Oliver" also features nearly 50 northeastern Montana children playing a variety of roles, alongside local actors Hailey Stone as The Artful Dodger, Becky Johnson as Mrs. Bedwin, Amber O'Mara as Sally, Lisa Garsjo Thieven as Annie and Dan Hance as Mr. Brownlow.
For tickets to Fort Peck productions, people can visit the theaters' new online box office at http://fortpecktheatre.org. All seats will be reserved this season, so people can go to the website to select their seat, following the link to select an opening night pass or a single performance seat.
