Havre Police Department

Officer investigated a report of bad checks called in from a U.S. Highway 2 Northwest business Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.

Officers investigated a Wednesday 6:36 p.m. report made at the police station of thefts from a fourth Street store.

Samantha Bea Huston of Havre, 18, was issued a summons on a charge of minor in possession after a 3rd Street caller reported a party Wednesday at 8:41 p.m. with underage drinking.

Officers investigated a 9:50 p.m. Wednesday call from First Street about a house break-in and stolen suitcase.

A 10th Street caller reported a “group of seven or eight kids trying to get into cars” at 3:20 this morning, and officers investigated the complaint.

A purse and spilled medicine at Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street was reported at 5:25 a.m. today.

Hill County Sheriff’s Office

Deputies investigated a Wednesday 9:42 a.m. report from Kremlin of a missing person.

Deputies made an arrest related to a transport from Rocky Boy Police Department to Hill County Detention Center at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday. No information was provided about the arrest.

Deputies investigated a possible drug offense reported Wednesday at 9:18 p.m. from a U.S. Highway 2 West business.

Havre Fire Department

Emergency medical personnel responded to one call Wednesday.

Fire crews were called to the 900 Block of Third Street at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday after a lit cigarette thrown on the ground started a fire in a pile of cotton shed from cottonwood trees. The fire was contained after firefighters “pretty much just stomped it out,” Fire Chief Mel Paulson said.
