A man denied using methamphetamine around his 1-year-old and causing her to test positive for the illegal and dangerous drug.
Kevin Bigby pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of endangering the welfare of children Tuesday afternoon in District Court.
A case worker from Child Protective Services called Havre Police Department dispatch April 7 to report that someone was using meth around a child, a court document says.
The case worker reported they had received a report March 18 that Bigby was using meth around his 1-year-old daughter.
After providing a urine sample, Bigby tested positive for meth. Child Protective Services also took a hair sample from the 1-year-old and test results came back positive for meth.
The mother also provided a hair sample. The tests on that sample came back negative for methamphetamine.
