This Thursday, May 25, there is a very important special election taking place where eligible Montana voters will choose between Mr. Greg Gianforte, Mr. Rob Quist and Mr. Mark Wicks to fill the vacant position of our sole representative to the U.S. House of Representatives. Quite an auspicious job with a state as large and diverse as ours.
Unfortunately, the political climate in America has become polarized to the point that no longer does a person’s true character or track record mean nearly as much as what party label they claim. What is even more unfortunate is that same “partisan first” way of thinking is finding its way into Montana’s elections. However, with our number one industry being agriculture, we still do recognize the essential values of a solid work ethic, an honest character, and a problem-solving mind. Our livelihoods depend on those virtues.
I encourage you to remember these qualities when you vote. Mr. Gianforte has a proven track record as a hard worker who built his own software “idea” into a company that he founded in Bozeman when he could have chosen any place in the world. It became hugely successful under his keen leadership.
After he sold that company, he began to spend his time and money traveling the state to encourage Montana students to study engineering and then start up their own companies in Montana just as he had. His foundations support many scholarships, as well as YNOP Christian Radio. He has worked hard these past two years to win a position in politics from which he can bring even more business into Montana through the many technology connections and ideas he has. He has a love for this state and wants to see it be competitive in the global market. I appreciate that he is willing to put his money where his mouth is.
Mr. Gianforte has the strong work ethic, character and mind that we need representing us.
Respectfully,
Marla Ray
