Evans a champion again

Sammy Evans’ track and field career is winding down at the University of Montana. And in her last Big Sky Conference track meet, Evans was her usual fantastic self.

Evans won her sixth Big Sky championship by capturing the 2017 triple jump 42-1.25 to easily win the triple jump outdoor title.

Evans, the former Blue Pony great, also finished third in the long jump. She also helped the Grizzlies score 116 points to finish second behind Big Sky champion Northern Arizona. Evans has now won six individual Big Sky titles.

Evans will head to the NCAA West Regional to compete in the triple jump next weekend in Austin, Texas. There, she'll try to qualify for her first NCAA championships appearance.
