Cory Richter, CJI Track
CJI senior Cory Richter has had some memorable performances this school year, on the football field and the basketball court. He added one more at last week’s District 9C track meet in Havre. Richter swept the jumping events in the boys meet, winning the high jump (5-6), the long jump (18-07.5) and the triple jump (39-05). Richter, who also placed fourth in the 100 meters, will now try and do the same at Thursday’s Northern C meet in Great Falls. Richter was All-State in both basketball and football.
Coya Nack, Fort Benton Track
It was no surprise that Fort Benton dominated the District 9C girls meet last Wednesday at the Havre Middle School Track. And it probably wasn’t a surprise that senior Coya Nack dominated the throws. Nack won the shot put with a toss of 35-06, the discus with a throw of 109-07 and the javelin with a heave of 117-07, helping her Longhorns score 221 points and repeat as 9C champions. Nack also stood out this year as an All-State basketball player for the Longhorns.
