Havre High School presents its 2017 academic, foundation scholarship awards

Havre High School recognized multiple students in a ceremony Wednesday morning in the high school gymnasium for their achievements in academics and presented scholarships administered by the Havre Public Schools Education Foundation.

The students presented the academic excellence awards were:

Art, Ethan Lines

Business education: Alexandra Donaldson and Madison Laux

English: Namoi Terry and Kane Gabrielsen

Family and Consumer Science: Airyanna McLeod

Foreign Language- Spanish: Mackenzie Tilleman

Health Enhancement: Ashlin Rosgaard and Wyatt Gobin

Mathematics: Michelle Rainey and Parker Filius

Music - Band: Michelle Rainey

Music - Choir: Randi Ruhkamp

Outstanding Student: Karen Fisk and Joshua Roasting Stick

Science: Michelle Rainey and Dane Flammond

Social Studies: Christopher Gabrielsen and Parker Filius

Alternative High School: Drew Torgerson

Technology Education Jared Laux

Havre Public Schools Education Foundation Scholarships require that the student is a senior with a cumulative 3.5 or higher grade point average in high school. The 2017 recipients and presenters of the scholarships were:

Blewitt Wrestling Scholarship: Jase Stokes and Dane Flammond, Havre High School, $500 each, Parker Filius, statewide, $1,000, presented by Mike Leinwand

Gene Gabriel Memorial Scholarship: Shaylan Brough and Dustin Haas, $500 each, presented by Nan Gabriel

HPSEF Memorial Scholarship: Jacob Sedahl, $500, presented by Jack Maloughney

Howard Miller Memorial Scholarship: Jacob Sedahl, $500, presented by Sally Miller and Kirk Miller

Friends of Music Band and Choir Scholarship: Dustin Haas and Randi Ruhkamp, $750 each, presented by Stephannie Klein

Dr. James and Kay Elliott Memorial Scholarship: Mackenzie Tilleman and North Star High School's Cady Afrin, $1,000 each, presented by Jack Maloughney

PEO Chapter AZ Scholarship: Naomi Terry, $500, presented by Paulette Cronk

C. Lowell and Vivian D. Purdy Memorial Scholarship: North Star High School's Keevan Borlaug, $750, presented by Jack Maloughney

Sue Swan Community Service Scholarship: Naomi Terry, $750, presented by Sue Swan

Sons of Norway Heritage Scholarship: Emily Brurud and North Star High School's Keevan Borlaug, $750 each, presented by Jack Maloughney

Wells Lamey Blue Pony Pride Scholarship: RayAn VandenBos and Jacob Sedahl, $500 each, presented by Kevin Lamey

Tom LaFond State Farm Up and Coming Entrepreneurial Scholarship: Dane Flammond, $500, presented by Angela Twombly, first year for the scholarship

Tillie Patterson Foundation Memorial Scholarship: Madison Tommerup and Airyanna McLeod, $5,000 each, presented by Jack Moloughney, first year for the scholarship.

Michelle Rainey was presented the Chemistry Merit Award.

John Dolph and Baylee Miller were presented the United States National Chemistry Olympiad Award.

Students presented with academic letters for having a 3.8 or better GPA for three consecutive semesters and a pin for having a 3.8 GPA for two consecutive semesters after receiving a letter were:

Class of 2017, pin, Parker Filius, Kane Gabrielsen, Ceyare Plante,, Michelle Rainey and Mackenzie Tilleman; eLtter, Christopher Gabrielsen

Class of 2018, pin, Katie Donaldson, Marca Herron, Addison Kinsella, Megan Lindbloom, Baylee Miller, Jillian Reighard, Ashlin Rosgaard, Vander Swenson and Laura Vance; Letter, Kaelyn Kaftan and Jenna Meldrum

Class of 2019, Letter, Kadyin Acor, Kaitlin Anderson, Tabbitha Davey, Evan Davison, Teagan Fee, Johnathan Klein, Christian Mathis, Brynn Nault, McKenzie Tommerup and Mackenzie Walker.
