A Day in the Park set for Saturday

Havre church Set Free Ministries is hosting a Day in the Park, an event at Pepin Park Saturday that will include entertainment, games and free barbecue along with motorcycle blessings.

Pastor A.J. Jensen said Servants of Christ Motorcycle Ministry will be at the park and motorcycle riders are invited to have their motorcycles blessed for the riding season.

It is the fourth year that Set Free Ministries is hosting the event and the second year it will be held at the park. Jensen said last year’s event was met with a positive reception from the community.

“And we think it’s going to be bigger this year,” he said.

Pastor Chris Richards of Immanuel Baptist Church will be among a series of speakers who will speak.

New Life Drama Company, a theater group out of Arizona will perform skits. Jensen said family-friendly activities including a musical performance by a worship team from Set Free Christian Fellowship of Great Falls will also be at the event, along with a puppet show, potato sack race, a three-legged race, games, prizes and bicycle giveaways.

Hamburgers, popcorn and snow cones will be served.

The event starts at noon Saturday and is free and open to the public.
